Pro-Life vs Pro-Choice

Abortion is a termination of pregnancy before the foetus is capable of independent life. The practice of abortion was widespread in ancient times as a method of birth control. Now, abortion is restricted or forbidden by most world religions. Legal regulation of abortion raises controversional and sensitive issues and is a battle ground for reformers. People`s views vary. The growth of the pro-choice and pro-life movements has intensified the sensitivity of debates on abortion in many countries recently.

Firstly, many experts hold that it is an invasion of a woman`s constitutional right to privacy to limit her access to abortion. According to them, women should have the right to choose. It is often claimed that abortion should be performed, and is not illegal if a doctor forms the opinion that to continue the pregnancy would involve risks, greater than if the pregnancy were terminated, of injury to the physical or mental health of the pregnant woman. Furthermore, is some countries abortion is legal if there is a risk of permanent injury to the health of pregnant woman or where there is a substantial risk that, if the child was born, it would be severly handicapped.

One very convincing argument in favour of pro-life is the beauty of each child. It is widely argued that it is the only reasonable decision to bear a child even if it involves some health difficulties. A child is a real wonder that gives us happiness, hope, and develp love between partners. In addition, it should be remembered that women who abort her foetus decrease the probability of subsequent successful childbirth. Later it has a big effect on psyche of the women, who may be treating themselves like murders. They live with a guilty conscience to the end of their life, withount inner peace.

Taking everything into consideration, there is no doubt that each woman should have got the right to make decision about her life, but this decision should be sensible and based on love and acceptance of everything that life brings. No child is a burden on the family`s shoulders. It is evident from the above points that each pregnant woman should be protected, not only by doctors, specialists, but mainly by family. She must not be left alone with all her problems connected with pregnancy and financial difficulties. It must be said that aborion is not a solution. We should let these small human beings live their own life.
